CN Traveler names Belize properties in Top 15 Central and South America Resorts

Conde Nast Traveler (CN Traveler) has revealed the results of its latest Readers’ Choice Awards with three Belize properties making the list of ‘Top 15 Resorts in Central and South America’.

While the November 9 article is primarily dominated by Costa Rica properties, Kanantik Reef & Jungle Resort in Belize managed to land top honors with a readers’ choice rating of 94.4.

Located between Placencia and Dangriga, Kanantik Reef & Jungle Resort is a 300 acre eco-resort four miles away from the renowned jaguar preserve, Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary. Situated on the beach, the 25-room property features Mayan-thatched roof cabanas with lavish canopied beds, rich wood floors, and gigantic wraparound decks. The property earned 95.2 scores for rooms, service, location, design, and available activities, while scoring 90.5 for food.

Two other notable Belize resorts also scored among the top 15 — Chaa Creek (no 10) and Turtle Inn (no 13).

The Lodge at Chaa Creek is located in the heart of Belize’s Cayo District, a key spot for some of the country’s top tourist attractions. The eco-luxury resort has won countless awards and had the distinction of hosting Prince Harry during his Belize visit earlier this year.

Turtle Inn is owned by Francis Ford Coppola and is situated on the tranquil Placencia peninsula in the southern part of Belize. It features individual cottages decorated with handcrafted Balinese furnishings. The restaurant offers fine dining with a large selection of Coppola wines.
