Ecuador First Tourist Destination in America for 2013

Ecuador was chosen as the first tourist destination in the Americas to visit in 2013, according to the records book of the best places to travel printed by the world famous guide Lonely Planet.

The text, which presents the best leisure itineraries for next year, places the South American country on the second place of the world.

Among the Ecuadoran proposals for 2013 stand Machachi, as one of the best historic estates in the country, the archaeological site of Baños del Inca, and a trip on the rebuilt train from Quito to Latacunga, capital of Cotopaxi province.

It is an exceptional way to see in the Ecuadoran Andes the so called Avenue of the Volcanoes Ilaló, Pasochoa, Rumiñahui, Cotopaxi, Pichincha, Atacazo, Corazon and Ilinizas, among others, according to the guide.
